Chiropractic

Will you crack my back?

Treatment can include spinal "adjustments" (common term for spinal manipulations), but these are just one of the tools we use, not the main focus. Depending on what's appropriate for you, treatment can also include soft tissue therapy, dry needling, and exercise or movement-based work. We build your approach around what actually works for you, and our overall goal is to help you feel independent and confident in your own body.

How is this different from a typical chiropractor visit?

Our approach is grounded in Cognitive Functional Therapy, a person-centred way of understanding and treating pain that looks at how your movement, beliefs, lifestyle, and emotional wellbeing all play a part in what you're experiencing. We look at the full picture of what's going on for you, so your treatment actually fits your life, your goals, and how you want to feel in your body.

Why do you focus on active care?

This is the approach we believe in, and it's aligned with what current evidence-based best practice suggests. Movement and exercise help build strength, confidence, and resilience in the area that's giving you trouble, rather than only offering temporary relief. It means you're building real understanding of your body and feeling in charge of it, rather than relying on someone else to "fix it" for you every time you experience pain. Most people find that as they build this strength, confidence, and understanding, they need less hands-on treatment over time.

What do you mean by person-centred care?

Person-centred care means your treatment is shaped around you, your goals, your beliefs, your lifestyle, and what matters to you, not a fixed protocol applied the same way to everyone. Two people with the same diagnosis might get quite different treatment plans from us, because their situations, goals, and preferences are different. We listen first, and build the plan from there.

I've heard chiropractors want you to keep coming back forever, is that the case here?

No. Our goal is to help you understand your body well enough that you won't need to rely on ongoing treatment. From your first session, we'll define a clear treatment plan and give you an estimate of how many sessions you'll likely need to reach your goals.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on what you're dealing with and how long it's been going on. For simple or recent issues, it might only take 2 to 4 sessions. For more complex or long-lasting conditions, we might be looking at 8 to 10, sometimes 12 to 15. After your first assessment, we'll give you a clear, honest picture of what to expect for your specific situation.

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, issues affecting your muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, and movement. Lower back pain and neck pain are the two we see most often, but we also regularly help people with shoulder, hip, and knee issues, and occasionally ankle and wrist complaints too. If you're dealing with pain or restricted movement somewhere on this list, or somewhere close to it, it's worth getting in touch.

Can you help with sports injuries?

Yes. Our approach focuses on rebuilding strength, movement quality, and resilience in the injured area, which is a key part of a safe, well-managed return to full activity. Whether you're managing an acute injury or something that's been affecting your performance for a while, we'll build a plan around your specific sport and goals.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No, you can book directly with us without a referral from your GP.

What happens in my first appointment?

Your first session is mainly about understanding your situation and your goals. We'll talk through your story, what's going on, and what you'd like to achieve, then move into a physical and movement assessment to see how your body is actually functioning. Treatment begins in this same session, and by the end you'll have a clear plan for how we'll work toward your goals together.

Remedial Massage

What is remedial massage?

Remedial massage is a hands-on therapy that targets specific muscles and soft tissue to help with tension, tightness, and pain. Unlike a relaxation massage, it's focused on addressing a particular issue or area of concern.

Is remedial massage painful?

It can involve some discomfort, particularly when working on tight or sensitive areas, but it shouldn't be painful. Your therapist will always work within your comfort level and adjust pressure based on your feedback.

How often should I get a massage?

This depends on your preference. Some people come in for regular massages every few weeks, others book in whenever they feel like one. Your therapist can help you figure out what can work for you.

Can I choose which massage therapist I see?

Yes, you can choose between Brad or Vanessa when booking online or via phone.
